Dictionary scope

The wordlist used on this site is the ENABLE word list (Enhanced North American Benchmark LExicon), which is in the public domain. It is the same dictionary used by Words With Friends and many open Scrabble apps.

Important: Tournament Scrabble play in North America uses the TWL (Tournament Word List), and international play uses SOWPODS. These dictionaries differ from ENABLE. Words shown on this site may not always be accepted in official tournament play. Always check the official dictionary for the game you're playing.
